Partnerships
Global health progress requires partnership between governments, the private sector and civil society.
Partnerships are at the core of our approach at the UN Special Envoy’s Office. We seek to form what would be called an “unbreakable syndicate” – where there is mutual accountability between partners and countries – to save the requisite number of lives to achieve the targets. It will take a perfect storm to reach the targets. We encourage every partner to not only pull in the same direction, but to also understand who is doing what, where, and when over the remaining quarters. We hope to use this website as a live “home” where partner work and progress can be showcased.
There are, of course, no more important partners than the countries striving to achieve the goals themselves. By working with groundbreaking mechanisms such as the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, we will keep countries at the center of any conversation regarding partnership and accountability.
